Ecological webs thrive on diversity, as does scientific discovery. I am interested in bringing different perspectives, experiences, and interests to the laboratory. The Machtinger Lab is dedicated to supporting a safe and open environment for hardworking, curious, and creative thinkers that treat each other with respect.  The success of a lab is only as good as its support system, and my goal is to mentor successful scientists, regardless of race, religion, gender identification, age, disability status, or economic background.
